The St. Francis Gladiators were the 46-32 winner over the Glen Lake Lakers when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. St. Francis took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Glen Lake on Saturday. While losing is never fun, St. Francis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Glen Lake is ranked 134th).
Glen Lake found their leader in underclassman Jacob Plamondon, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 17 rebounds. Plamondon has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Benji Allen, who scored 12 points.
St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Glen Lake, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Francis will play host again and welcome McBain, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McBain has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 598 points over their last nine contests. As for Glen Lake, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kingsley at 7:00 p.m. Kingsley is coming into the matchup with three straight losses on the road, meaning Glen Lake will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
