It was a good run, but Quentin Road Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak dating back to last season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Calumet Christian, falling 82-48. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Quentin Road Christian has scored all season.
Brad Nymeyer was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds for Calumet Christian. Nymeyer continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Michael Rivera was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.
Quentin Road Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Calumet Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-15.
Quentin Road Christian will head out on the road to take on Lake County Baptist at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Quentin Road Christian is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Illinois (they are ranked 290th, while Lake County Baptist is ranked 678th). Calumet Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Hammond Baptist at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Calumet Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
