It was a good run, but Parkland unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olympic Trojans. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-14 in the first set.
Parkland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-21.
Eva Venturi paced Parkland's offense, picking up seven kills. Venturi got some help from Braelyn Dillard and her seven assists. Edriannys Alvarez controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Parkland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Olympic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Looking ahead, Parkland will be playing in front of their home fans against North Forsyth at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Olympic, they will head out on the road to face off against Garinger at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
