The Tri Titans are taking a road trip to take on the Knightstown Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Tri is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Tri will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Union County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Titans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Patriots a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Titans' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.
Not much got past Macey Ballard, who gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Union County off the board. Ballard has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lyla Williams, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. MacKenzie Laurie was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Knightstown earned a 4-0 win over Wes-Del on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Lanee Swindell was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Grace Behny, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Knightstown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Knightstown now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Tri, their record is now 13-3.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Tri hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Knightstown struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Tri's way against Knightstown in their previous meeting back in March, as Tri made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
