Oviedo is 3-0 against Timber Creek since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. Both teams will round out the year against one another at 10:30 a.m. at. Hopefully Oviedo focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Thursday.
Last Thursday, Oviedo faced Edgewater in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Oviedo lost to Edgewater on the road by a decisive 83-67 margin. Oviedo's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Cameron Bryant, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Harper, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Timber Creek beat Avon Park 47-42 on Friday.
Oviedo's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2. As for Timber Creek, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9.
Everything came up roses for Oviedo against Timber Creek in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 as the squad secured a 67-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oviedo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
