MacArthur and the Rockets are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The MacArthur Generals will be playing at home against the Rochester Rockets at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in MacArthur's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Rockets have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
MacArthur scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Champaign Central by a score of 75-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
MacArthur's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Khylee Carson, who scored six points along with eight steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Jackson, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Rochester was able to grind out a solid win over the Senators on Thursday, taking the game 55-47. The victory was just what Rochester needed coming off of a 58-33 loss in their prior match.
Rochester had a senior duo take command as Ellie Gegen scored 19 points and Becca Ryan scored 14 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Gegen scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Alyse Day, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
MacArthur has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season. As for Rochester, their victory bumped their record up to 11-17.
MacArthur came up short against the Rockets in their previous meeting back in January, falling 51-47. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rochester's Taylor Offer, who scored 21 points along with five assists.
