The Aitkin Gobblers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Park Rapids, falling 90-54. While losing is never fun, Aitkin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while Park Rapids is ranked 87th).
Ryan Carroll continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Park Rapids, scoring 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carroll has scored all season. Noah Morris was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six assists and four steals.
Aitkin's defeat was their 11th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Park Rapids, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Aitkin will head out on the road to take on Detroit Lakes at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Park Rapids, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Crosby-Ironton at 7:15 p.m.
