The Athens Drive Jaguars are taking a road trip to square off against the Green Level Gators at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Athens Drive's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
Last Monday, Athens Drive got the win against Panther Creek by a conclusive 14-4. The Jaguars have beaten the Catamounts the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Catamounts has come to flipping the script.
Anderson Hanes and Paul Harrell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Hanes struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Harrell tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance gave Hanes a new career-low in hits. At the plate, Hanes scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Harrell scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave Harrell a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Abdel Amra was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Miguel Delgado was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Athens Drive was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Panther Creek only posted a batting average of .150.
Meanwhile, Green Level came up short against Apex on Tuesday and fell 7-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Gators in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.
Tommy Gingerich was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Athens Drive's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Green Level, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Green Level's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Athens Drive hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .432. It's a different story for Green Level, though, as they've only averaged .239. Will they be able to contain Athens Drive's hitters?
Athens Drive came out on top in a nail-biter against Green Level when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will Athens Drive repeat their success, or does Green Level have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
