They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 70-20 victory over Atchison County. That 50 points margin sets a new team best for St. Mary's Academy this season.
Nick Whitehead continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josh Knueper, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
St. Mary's Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Atchison County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
St. Mary's Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool at 8:00 p.m. Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 252 points over their last four matches. Atchison County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jefferson County North on January 22nd. The timing is sure in Jefferson County North's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Atchison County has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
