Softball Recap: Dundee Wins Going Away Against Summerfield

Summerfield typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Dundee proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 17-5 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kaylee Imo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Dundee got a massive performance out of Kiernan Brown, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lacey Evans, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Dundee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .521. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summerfield only posted an OBP of .324.

Dundee's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Summerfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

As of now, neither Dundee nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
