Franklin has won three straight games at home, while Eastwood has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Cougars will host the Troopers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Franklin put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 84-49 win over Montwood. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 180th, while the Rams are ranked 745th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ernie Powers continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 289 yards and seven TDs while picking up 18.1 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Atreyu De La Riva was another key rusher, rushing for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Meanwhile, Eastwood's game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 victory over Eastlake.

Meanwhile, Williams did his best for the losing side, throwing for 233 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also rushing for 50 yards and one score.
Eastwood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Logan Bedwell and Roberto Ramirez. Andrew Cintron was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Eastwood, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 5-1.
Franklin strolled past Eastwood in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 44-27. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Troopers' Jude Walker, who picked up 125 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one rushing score. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Cougars still be able to contain Walker? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
