Palisades hasn't had much luck against Ardrey Kell recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pumas will take on the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Palisades earned a 10-5 win over Ballantyne Ridge. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Pumas' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
The team relied heavily on Mariah Rushin, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Sanaa Dorsey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Ardrey Kell made easy work of Palisades on Thursday and carried off a 19-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 12 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Carlin Scholz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Scholz was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Janey Galek was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Reagan Martin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Ardrey Kell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .757. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Ardrey Kell is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Palisades, their victory bumped their record up to 11-14.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Palisades hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Ardrey Kell struggles in that department as they've averaged .416. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Palisades might still be hurting after the 19-2 loss they got from Ardrey Kell in their previous matchup on Thursday. Can the Pumas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
