Florala made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Pleasant Home, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Florala Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Pleasant Home Eagles an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on five straight.

Ella Caraway made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (two). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paige Musso, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Jailee Jones was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Florala was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Florala's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.7 runs. As for Pleasant Home, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Florala will take on Geneva County in a tournament on Friday. Pleasant Home will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Samson at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
