Monarch extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping them down to 3-11. They came up short against the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs, falling 12-6. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Bohdee Williams made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Noel Soledispa also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, their record now sits at 9-7. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
On Dr. Joaquin Garcia's side, Adam Shatara made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Shatara has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Michael Abrahan looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
Back at the plate, Dr. Joaquin Garcia got a massive performance out of Van Kamen, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Kamen has become a key player for the Bulldogs: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monarch will head out to challenge Deerfield Beach at 6:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, they will venture away from home to face off against Nova at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.36 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
