That makes it six consecutive games in which Taylor has scored at least a third of Benson's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Rone, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Santa Rita bumped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.4 points per game. As for Benson, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-8.
Santa Rita will challenge Morenci at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Morenci presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Rita in Arizona (Morenci is ranked 115th, while Santa Rita is ranked 276th). As for Benson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bisbee at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bisbee is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
