The White Academy Knights were the 47-39 winner over the Washburn Pirates when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. White Academy had to suffer through a rough 77-42 loss at the hands of the Pirates. White Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-22.
Washburn found their leader in underclassman Matthew Harville, who scored 23 points along with four steals. Harville has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. Dillion Mullins was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
White Academy's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Washburn, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14.
White Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face the at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Apostolic Christian is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Washburn, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on February 2nd.
