Ridgway (Pa.) and
St. Joseph's Catholic Academy (Boalsburg, Pa.) both tightened up defensively, but Ridgway managed to score enough to pull out the 13-0 victory.
The Elker scored on two rushing touchdowns to pull out the win.
The lead that Ridgway took on a touchdown run by
Dane Cappiello with 1:00 left in the first quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
RHS came into the game allowing 17.7 points per game. The zero points that the Wolves ended with were well below their average of 15.9 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for St. Joseph's Catholic Academy, which notched a 32-26 victory over Wheeling Central Catholic in its previous outing. The loss snapped St. Joseph's Catholic Academy's three-game winning streak.
Next week, SJCA (5-6) will take on Ridgway/Johnsonburg in a non-conference game.
