West Lincoln had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 14-2 margin over the Franklin County Bulldogs on Monday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 12 runs or more this season.
Caroline Hedgepeth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Hedgepeth was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Rainee Martin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Purdy, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
West Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
