The Dominion Academy Sabers had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Spring Valley Academy as Dominion Academy made off with a 51-28 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Dominion Academy also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Dominion Academy was led to victory by Logan Gebhart and Cecilia Canida. Gebhart scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals, while Canida scored 18 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Tessa Merkel was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Dominion Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Spring Valley Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dominion Academy will take on Ross County Christian Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Spring Valley Academy, they will be playing at home against Miami Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
