They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leah Lapham, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another was Addison Kerwin, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, North Kingstown put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Portsmouth as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering the Skippers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
North Kingstown also got a great performance from Gianna Amedeo as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Amedeo has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Hannah Place was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Adeyln Barnes was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
North Kingstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Portsmouth only posted an OBP of .263.
The win got Coventry back to even at 4-4-1. As for North Kingstown, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
Coventry came out on top in a nail-biter against North Kingstown when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Oakers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Skippers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
