A well-balanced attack led Cranston East over Mt. Pleasant in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Everything went Cranston East's way against Mt. Pleasant as Cranston East made off with a 56-32 victory.
Cranston East relied on the efforts of Jayna Gunderway, who scored 18 points, and Mya Jiminez, who scored 24 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Jiminez has scored at least a third of Cranston East's points.
Meanwhile, Mt. Hope's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 53-33 walloping at the hands of Moses Brown. Mt. Hope has not had much luck with Moses Brown recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Cranston East's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Mt. Hope, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Cranston East, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-39 loss to Mt. Hope in their previous meeting back in January.
