The Tri County Trojans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-35 victory over Lourdes Central Catholic at home. Tri County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.
Tri County had a senior duo take command as Caden Bales scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Braiden Strouf scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Strouf scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayden Gronemeyer, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Lourdes Central Catholic still got an impressive performance from Trevor Tesarek, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Blue Oggs was another key contributor, scoring six points.
The win makes it two in a row for Tri County and bumps their season record up to 13-3. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.
Tri County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th. Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, they will take on Lewiston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Lewiston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
