On Tuesday, the Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks's game was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They escaped with a win against Arnold by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54. The win made it back-to-back wins for Port St. Joe.
Port St. Joe got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was JD Becton out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Becton scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Jenkins, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Despite the loss, Arnold still got an impressive performance from Roman Howell, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Drew Moseley, who scored seven points along with ten assists and three steals.
Port St. Joe has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. As for Arnold, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.
Port St. Joe will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Blountstown is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. As for Arnold, they will take on the Crusaders at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
