AA Region 5 recap October 1, 2013
Heard County scaled the state rankings by moving to 143 from 193 this week, the biggest jump in AA Region 5. The Braves climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Kendrick 27-0.
Bremen was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fifth in the league. The Blue Devils vanquished Jordan 48-7 earlier in the week.
Temple's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Devin Lord has thrown for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Phillip Chandler has 4 catches for 62 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bowdon takes on the Red Jackets. The Red Devils are currently in first, while Jordan is in eighth.
Bowdon extended the longest winning streak in AA Region 5 this week by beating Manchester, 35-12. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
