Sayre has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Parkway Center City Bulldogs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Sayre has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, Sayre strolled past South Philadelphia with points to spare, taking the game 56-39.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sayre to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josh Rollins, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Rollins scored 15 or more points. Zahki Solomon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Parkway Center City posted their closest victory yet this season on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-41 win over First Philadelphia Prep.
Israel Mckinley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with five assists and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Khair Gordon, who scored four points along with five steals.
Sayre's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Parkway Center City, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9.
Things could have been worse for Sayre, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 71-52 loss to Parkway Center City when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Sayre, Saleem Scott (who dropped a triple-double on 27 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
