Jefferson Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Forge Christian Fury at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Jefferson Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Saturday.
On Saturday, Jefferson Academy lost to Colorado Academy at home by a decisive 59-45 margin. While losing is never fun, Jefferson Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Colorado Academy is ranked 15th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jimeto Orji, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Mendez, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Forge Christian waltzed into their match on Saturday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They were the clear victor by a 52-30 margin over Colorado Springs Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Forge Christian has posted yet this season.
Jefferson Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Forge Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their 14th straight on the road.
Jefferson Academy was dealt a bruising 72-36 loss at the hands of Forge Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Jefferson Academy, Carson Jasa (who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
