The Grundy Golden Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 74-34 blowout they got on the road against Holston. That's another feather in the cap for Grundy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jonah Looney continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. The game was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. Ethan McClanahan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Grundy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Holston, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grundy is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Twin Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Twin Valley is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Holston, they will head out on the road to face off against Patrick Henry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Patrick Henry knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Holston likes a good challenge.
