The Jonathan Alder Pioneers won the last time they faced the Urbana Hillclimbers, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Jonathan Alder took down Urbana 51-34. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jonathan Alder.
Despite the loss, Urbana saw an underclassman step up: Alexandra Dixon scored 25 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Mounce, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.
Urbana struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Jonathan Alder is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Urbana, their loss ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-4.
Jonathan Alder will head out on the road to face off against West Liberty-Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Urbana, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Harvest Prep at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Harvest Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
