The Tallmadge Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Roosevelt Rough Riders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tallmadge is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Tallmadge never got on the board in their last matchup, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cuyahoga Falls last Friday. Tallmadge really took it to Cuyahoga Falls for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-7 win on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Tallmadge had established a 28 point advantage.
Tallmadge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ricky Maclean led the charge by rushing for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
Tallmadge's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. The heavy lifting was done by Noah Robinson and Cooper Jones who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt took a serious blow against Aurora two Fridays ago, falling 45-7. While losing is never fun, Roosevelt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Aurora is ranked 92nd).
Tallmadge's victory bumped their season record to 3-5 while Roosevelt's loss dropped theirs to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Tallmadge against Roosevelt in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 70-21 win. Will Tallmadge repeat their success, or does Roosevelt have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
