St. Petersburg Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Naomi Thompson out in front who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Elise Graham was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six steals and five assists.
Bianca Barroso and Jenna West certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Barroso scored 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while West scored five points along with eight steals. Barroso is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Victory Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
St. Petersburg Catholic pushed their record up to 10-8 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Victory Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
St. Petersburg Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Eagle's View at 11:30 a.m. on January 19th. Eagle's View is coming into the game hot, having won their last ten games. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Foundation Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Foundation Academy's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so Victory Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
