It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the University Titans had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They slipped by the Hawks 49-48. The win was some much needed relief for University as it spelled an end to their 15-game losing streak.
Leading University to victory were Jaxson Harris and Aidon Amoah. Harris scored 13 points, while Amoah scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Amoah hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Robert Ayende, who scored three points along with two steals.
University's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Ayende got a bit more time on the court (18 vs. his season average of 9.05). Ayende made the most of the opportunity, scoring three points along with two steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
University's victory bumped their record up to 2-21. As for Spruce Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
University didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-27 defeat vs. Lake Mary on the 8th. Spruce Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
