Basketball Recap: Crossroads Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Ely Phillips and Kobe Edgerton

On Tuesday, the Crossroads Christian Colts didn't have quite enough to beat the Northern Durham Knights and fell 73-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (60), the Colts still had to take the loss.

Crossroads Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kobe Edgerton, who went 9 for 18 on his way to 26 points and three steals, and Ely Phillips, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points and four steals. Edgerton's afternoon made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Bell, who posted 11 points.

Even though they lost, Crossroads Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Crossroads Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Northern Durham, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Crossroads Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lee Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Northern Durham, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-52 defeat against Person on the 3rd.
