Sumner has won four straight games at home, while Bloomingdale has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Stingrays will welcome the Bulls at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Sumner 3.1, Bloomingdale 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sumner's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Freedom. Considering the Stingrays have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
ETHAN DEJESUS tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, BRAYLON DISLA was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine games. Another player making a difference was KALOB WILLIAMS, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Sumner hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Bloomingdale won against Gaither on Wednesday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Bulls didn't even let Tampa Catholic on the board, marking the Bulls' second-straight 2-0 shutout.
The team relied heavily on JJ Santiago, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Sumner's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Bloomingdale, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Sumner has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bloomingdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Sumner couldn't quite get it done against Bloomingdale when the teams last played back in March of 2025 as they fell 5-1. Can the Stingrays avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
