Swan Valley has gone a perfect 10-0 against Hemlock recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Vikings will challenge the Huskies at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Swan Valley had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Durand on Tuesday. The Vikings never let the Railroaders get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.
Mia Robinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Swan Valley got a massive performance out of Chloe Bryce, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Shiloh Charboneau was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Swan Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Hemlock had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. Everything went their way against the Cardinals as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Hemlock pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Swan Valley, their record now sits at 3-4.
Swan Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Hemlock in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
