Softball Recap: Conway Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Conway entered their tilt with Andrews on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Yellowjackets 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Olivia Drew made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played.

In other batting news, Conway let Brandy Smith and Anna Dorman run wild. Smith went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Dorman went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Dorman has posted since back in March. Cayden Black was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Conway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Conway's record is now 15-9. As for Andrews, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season.

Conway will be playing at home against Waccamaw at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Andrews, they will venture away from home to challenge Georgetown at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
