Deubrook took a serious blow against Colman-Egan on Friday, falling 20-58. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Deubrook of the 14-48 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head.
Deubrook got a solid performance out of senior Clayton Koppatschek, who rushed for 166 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. In fact, with 9 tackles Koppatschek was a force on both sides of the ball. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Denton Schwartz, who racked up 9 tackles.
Deubrook are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-3. The win bumped Colman-Egan's record up to 3-0.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Deubrook take on Elkton/Lake Benton MN at 7:00 PM. Both teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games. Colman-Egan will be staying on the road, facing off against Estelline/Hendricks.
