The Burrillville Broncos just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Moses Brown Quakers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Burrillville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Moses Brown likes a good challenge.
Burrillville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 80-64 win over Juanita Sanchez Complex on Thursday. The Broncos have beaten the Cavaliers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cavaliers has come to flipping the script.
Burrillville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Zanella, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 15 points. Dylan Kafalas was another key player, putting up six points and six steals.
Meanwhile, Moses Brown waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Villa Novans 81-57. The Quakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.
Burrillville better focus on containing Otis Crosby and Donovan Clement as the pair were huge in Moses Brown's win. Crosby almost dropped a double-double with 25 points and nine rebounds, while Clement went 6-for-14 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and five blocks. That's the most blocks Clement has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Mobray, who put up ten points and three steals.
Moses Brown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive matches.
Moses Brown's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. As for Burrillville, their record now sits at 14-7.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's game: Burrillville has made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having averaged 9.8 three-pointers per game. However, it's not like Moses Brown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.8 three-pointers. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Burrillville didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Moses Brown when the teams last played back in February of 2020, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. Will Burrillville repeat their success, or does Moses Brown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
