The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hawthorne, who took down 139th ranked Hawthorne, 21-14. Michael Dare threw for 273 yards and one touchdown and ran for 11 yards in the win.
Rutherford extended the longest winning streak in North Jersey - Colonial this week by beating Glen Rock, 35-28. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.
Mike O'Neill threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns. He went 17-29 with two interceptions.
Pat Landrigan was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 205 yards on 32 carries as Rutherford beat the Bears. Jim Hadrava also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.
Velez was the best wideout in the league this week as the Crusaders defeated Hawthorne. Velez tallied three receptions for 101 yards. Nick Smith helped Elmwood Park's passing attack out by catching six balls for 89 yards.
Elmwood Park's Dare and Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading North Jersey - Colonial in both passing and receiving yards. Dare has thrown for 1900 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 42 catches for 733 yards. Landrigan from the Bulldogs leads the league in rushing with 761 yards.
The Crusaders' Dare is within 100 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Manchester Regional.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Elmwood Park takes on the Falcons. The Crusaders are currently in first, while Manchester Regional is in seventh.
Elmwood Park moved up to 175 from 203 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Crusaders were able to make move up by besting the Bears 21-14.
