The Apollo Hawks will face off against the West Point Dragons at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Apollo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Apollo needed a bit of extra time to put away Shadow Ridge. They skirted past the Stallions 10-8.

Luis Valencia looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Roberto Quinonez, who fired off two home runs and three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Isaiah Holguin was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
Apollo lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, West Point came up short against Mountain Ridge on Friday, falling 12-6.
Marco Medina made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Navarro, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Apollo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for West Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Apollo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. However, it's not like West Point struggles in that department as they've averaged .445. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Apollo got the 'W' when the teams last played back in March against West Point by a conclusive 13-5 score. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
