The Heritage Academy Heroes''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Canyon State Academy by a score of 24-22. Heritage Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Canyon State Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Heritage Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elliot Cahall. Despite the final result, he rushed for 212 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry.
Heritage Academy's defeat was their fourth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.0 points per game. As for Canyon State Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Heritage Academy will head out on the road to face off against El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. El Dorado knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Heritage Academy likes a good challenge. As for Canyon State Academy, they will be playing at home against Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Heritage Academy is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
