Esparto has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Calistoga Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.
Last Friday, Esparto was beaten by Dixon 78-14. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Esparto has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Antonio Seastrunk Jr., who scored nine points. He scored a full 64.3% of Esparto's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Andre Oliver , who scored four points.
Meanwhile, Calistoga had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They snuck past Roseland University Prep with a 48-43 victory.
Esparto's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Calistoga, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
