On Monday, Pettisville got the win against Stryker by a conclusive 27-2. The victory continues a trend for the Blackbirds in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.
Macy Hoylman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Olivia Miller was a standout: she got on base in all six of her plate appearances with five runs and two RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Naomi Richer, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one double.
Pettisville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Montpelier had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Golden Bears.
Madelyn Hopper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Kelsie Bumb was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Montpelier pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Pettisville, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pettisville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Montpelier struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
