There's no place like home for Walsingham Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-3 margin over the Peninsula Catholic Knights on Saturday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by seven runs or more this season.

Brady Vaughn was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Corey Overmeyer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and six RBI.

Walsingham Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peninsula Catholic only managed seven.

Walsingham Academy pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Peninsula Catholic, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Walsingham Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Norfolk Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Peninsula Catholic will face off against rival Norfolk Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
