St. Margaret's had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past Calvary Chapel 55-14 at home. Given St. Margaret's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Calvary Chapel is ranked 751st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Matt Arena had a dynamite game for St. Margaret's, rushing for 127 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Max Ruff was another key contributor, throwing for 235 yards and four touchdowns while completing 95% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Rio Hondo Prep really took it to Campbell Hall for the full four quarters, racking up a 38-7 win at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Rio Hondo Prep just coasted through the last quarter.
Nate Curtis and Caeden Holcomb were among the main playmakers for Rio Hondo Prep as the former rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 55 yards and two touchdowns.
St. Margaret's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.67 points. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
