After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Celina, the Ansonia Tigers were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 62-40 margin over Mississinawa Valley. That looming 62-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Ansonia yet this season.
Ethan Reichert was a one-man wrecking crew for Ansonia as he scored 34 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Schmitmeyer, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Several Blackhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyle Wehrkamp, who scored 11 points along with three steals. Aron Hunt was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds.
Ansonia's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Mississinawa Valley, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ansonia will square off against Tri-Village at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tri-Village knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matches -- so hopefully Ansonia likes a good challenge. Mississinawa Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Arcanum at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Arcanum focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Tuesday.
