On Thursday, Damonte Ranch came up short against Freedom and fell 45-34. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Damonte Ranch came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 53rd in Nevada, while Freedom is ranked 717th in California).
Damonte Ranch's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kylee Moscove, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds. Moscove continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ivy Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Damonte Ranch's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-5. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Damonte Ranch will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Grant at 3:15 p.m. on December 8th. Grant is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Freedom, they will be playing at home against San Marin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. San Marin's defense has only allowed 22 points per game this season, so Freedom's offense will have their work cut out for Freedom.
