The Glascock County Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They came out on top against Taliaferro County by a score of 54-47. The team's offensive explosion also rewarded Glascock County with their most commanding win of the season.
Taliaferro County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Orlandus Craft, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jemauri Merritt, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Taliaferro County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Glascock County and bumps their season record up to 2-20. As for Taliaferro County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
Glascock County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against David Emanuel Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. David Emanuel Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Glascock County likes a good challenge. Taliaferro County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
