It's playoff time, and Riverside had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Westside Wolverines with a sharp  16-10 win on Monday. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Generals as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.
 Rylan Covington made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  he has posted since back in February of 2024. He was even better at the plate,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with four  stolen bases, three  runs,  and three  RBI. He also  hit a  triple, marking his first of the season.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Josh Skipper, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances. Riverside is 2-1 when  Skipper posts two or  more  runs, but 1-16 otherwise.  Douglas Evans was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
Riverside's win bumped their record up to 3-17. As for Westside,  they are  on  a  31-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-20.
 Looking ahead, Riverside will face off against Clay at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4  runs per game  this season, so the Generals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Westside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
