String Theory will face off against the South Philadelphia Rams at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday. South Philadelphia took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on String Theory, who comes in off a win.
String Theory had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Prep Charter on Wednesday. String Theory was the clear victor by a 12-4 margin over Prep Charter. The win continues a trend for String Theory in their matchups with Prep Charter: they've now won five in a row.

Jayden Masci and Anthony Putnick were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Masci pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Putnick struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. Masci also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because String Theory is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. At bat, Masci went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Putnick went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mark Pietrafesa, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Martin Long, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
String Theory always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, South Philadelphia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to Thomas A. Edison.
String Theory pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for South Philadelphia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
String Theory took their victory against South Philadelphia in their previous meeting back in May of 2018 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Does String Theory have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Philadelphia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
