St. John's Christian Academy extended the longest winning streak in SCISA 8-Man Region I (8 Man) this week by beating Henry Academy, 62-6. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Coastal Christian Prep made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 896 from 962. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 64-36 victory over Cathedral Academy last week.
Coastal Christian Prep's dynamic duo of Cameron Barrett and Garrett Lynch proved tough for the Generals to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Barrett threw for 287 yards and four touchdowns and Lynch had 133 yards receiving. Tony Crenshaw helped Coastal Christian Prep's passing attack out by catching six balls for 72 yards.
Christian Rogers was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 188 yards as Cathedral Academy topped Cathedral Academy. Teammate Lloyd Hayes added to the ground attack by rushing for 87 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Barrett of Coastal Christian Prep is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1570. He has also thrown 21 touchdowns. On the ground, St. John's Christian Academy's Rashae Bey has rushed for 1889 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Jalen Ward. The St. John's Christian Academy star has 26 catches for 619 yards.
The marquee game in SCISA 8-Man Region I (8 Man) this week will be the clash between the Patriots and Beaufort Academy. Henry Academy enters the game ranked 14th in the state, while Beaufort Academy ranks 23rd.
Rogers of the Rick Howell's team is only eight yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Rogers has rushed for 992 yards on 119 carries so far this year.
Coastal Christian Prep led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on the Generals. Barrett ran for seven yards in the win.
